In Khmelnytskyi, another meeting of the regional working group on the development of the agricultural sector took place, chaired by Serhii Tiurin, the Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration. The working group was created following the results of the regional agricultural forum initiated by the UAC. Its goal is to consolidate the positions of the agricultural community, develop practical solutions, and initiate the necessary legislative changes.

The People's Deputies of Ukraine Yurii Zaslavskyi and Volodymyr Vatras, the Deputy Chairman of the UAC Denys Marchuk, the head of the relevant structural subdivision of the RMA (Regional Military Administration), heads of agricultural enterprises, and representatives of specialized sectoral institutions joined the discussion.

This time, the participants focused on the issues most relevant to the industry — from state support to staffing and the tax burden.

Among the key topics was support for agricultural enterprises that were relocated from temporarily occupied territories or suffered as a result of hostilities. They also discussed legislative initiatives regarding the introduction of a toll for travel on local roads and a proposal to apply a preferential 50% excise tax rate on fuel for agricultural producers.

Special attention was paid to staffing in the agricultural industry. "The issue of reserving workers of agricultural enterprises remains one of the most acute, since it directly affects the stability of farms' operation in the region. Without resolving it, it is becoming increasingly difficult for enterprises to ensure the continuity of production processes," emphasized a member of the UAC board, Ihor Hai.

Also during the meeting, the issue of the high cost of registering rights to land plots — both in terms of lease and purchase — was raised.

The participants of the meeting agreed to continue joint work on elaborating the initiatives voiced and preparing proposals for their further consideration at the state level.
